On a hazy morning at the beginning of May 2015, a collective of creative individuals assembled at the Euphoria Fish spa in Lavington, Nairobi for a very special event.
Noooo we were not there for fish pedicures (although that is definitely a plan for another day! Stay tuned!), but for an event that promised to and delivered excess hipster realness and super cool vibes.
Walking into the venue I was a bit skeptical because I really did not know what to expect but it turned out to be a pleasant experience overall. Not only did I get to go through an array of beautiful thrift threads, but I also got to interact with some of the most creative and cool minds in Nairobi.
Siblings Velma Rossa and Papa Petit who are the brains behind ‘The Thrift Social’ made sure all that were present were treated to amazing music by Dj Ronjey, good food and drinks as they shopped and mingled that afternoon. The gathering was an amazing step towards uniting all the talented folk in our country and I am happy that I got to witness its start.
All the proceeds and clothes donations from the event went to The Jacaranda Workshop located in Kileleshwa.
