My First DSLR Camera

I have been saving up for a minute now and FINALLY got my new camera today!!
*Insert crowd cheers and a Football stadium doing the wave to the tune of the Macarena!!*
It’s been a long time coming but I am thankful to God for giving me this baby!!

I cannot say that I have always had a passion for photography and film. When I was a kid the only thing I knew about photography were those black cases for storing film which also doubled up as cups when playing Cha Mama!

Truth be told, this year opened up a whole new world for me in terms of visual content creation.
My previous camera was a small Samsung digital and although it was very handy when it came to capturing random images, it did not give me the thrill that comes with handling a proper DSLR camera.
I had been using my university’s  equipment for both my projects in film and photography for a while and I had always wanted one for myself (spoilt kid’s voice)

*Being active when making wishes gives results* The days of waking up every morning and expecting a camera to magically appear by my bedside were long gone and I decided to save up and finally get myself one.

& now I do 🙂
Cheers to thaaaaaat! & to many more amazing projects this year with my new baby ROSE.

PS. I would like to send a shout out to all the photographers who inspire me.
Emmanuel Jambo, Barbara Minishi, Victor Peace, Thandiwe Muriu, Mutua Matheka, Joe Were, June Mweteeli, Andrew Mageto, Osse Greca Sinare, Anthony Wright… and many more!

This list is truly endless but shout out to you all for raising the bar!

God bless!
