‘The Miss World pageant is not a pageant like any other, because it emphasizes more on ‘beauty with a purpose.’
The above is what they would really like us to believe but we all know Wangari Maathai never won it!
(Did I just compare a Nobel Peace Prize win to that of being crowned Miss World? Yes… Yes I did thank you very much)
This year’s Miss World Kenya competition was different and much more remarkable than the previous years. Not only did they extend their search and come up with 42 beautiful girls from 42 counties, but they also conducted a well organized training program which filtered the rest leaving the best for the amazing finale which was held at KICC.
The evening was filled with pomp and glamour and the 24 shortlisted beauties strutted their stuff down the catwalk in a bid to emerge the winner.
This year’s winner, Machakos County beauty Idah Nguma and a final year marketing student at Kenyatta University, beat 24 other finalists to win the coveted crown that comes with a Sh1 million prize cash and a brand new car.
She will travel to London on 20th November to join other world contestants in a boot camp as they await the Miss World finals on the 14th of December.
We at Cynosure wish this year’s beauty and cultural ambassador all the best as she competes with the other world beauties.
Have a Terrific Tuesday!
No don’t… That means pizza and you will never win Miss World if you follow that path.
I really should stop now…
Ciao beautiful people!
