Lyra Aoko Photography – Glow

Hey hey beautiful people… We are back with yet another editorial!

This time round, I teamed up with amazing makeup artist Valary Mdeizi and gorgeous model Anjili Laura to create a glow in the dark editorial!

The concept was Mdeizi’s idea and she executed the glow in the dark body art so well! The shoot was simple enough but the artistry behind the glow in the dark paint application was key. Luckily I was working with a skilled professional and Mdeizi drew and created the body art for this project so effortlessly. It was pretty cool how the paint completely disappears in natural light and lit up like a Beyonce concert stage when the black light fell on Anjili’s body. I felt like a child watching a magic show for real.

Another cool thing was the fact that we only used the black UV light and no additional strobes to achieve the glow in the dark look. Magic I tell you!

The only addition to the shoot was a black backdrop which was necessary to create the contrast you see in the images below.

Behold I give you…

If you don’t mind me asking, where did you buy your black uv light bulb?
